Handknotted rugs are produced using the ancient technique whereby the knots are tied by hand, one by one. The knotting technique, type of knot and its thickness give the rug unique characteristics. The quality of the rug increases in proportion to the number of knots of which it is made up. Handknotted rugs are works of the highest artisanal manufacture.
